Political Turmoil Unfolds in APC Orile Oko Ward 8 as Former Adviser Sounds Alarm

Ogun State, Nigeria —

Ijaduoye Olasunkanmi, former Special Adviser on Political Affairs for Remo North Local Government, has formally addressed His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, Executive Governor of Ogun State, expressing serious concerns about the conduct of Otunba Koye Ijaduoye, a key leader within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orile Oko Ward 8, Remo North Local Government Area.

In a letter sent to the Governor’s Office, Ijaduoye accused Otunba Koye Ijaduoye of monopolizing party leadership in the ward, sidelining other stakeholders and undermining the principles of inclusiveness and collective leadership. The letter alleges that Otunba Koye Ijaduoye has been acting as if he solely owns the APC in the area, thereby causing divisions and threatening party unity.

The former Special Adviser highlighted incidents surrounding the APC Ward Congress held on 18th February 2026. Despite Governor Abiodun’s explicit directive for an inclusive, transparent, and participatory congress, Otunba Koye Ijaduoye reportedly mobilized loyalists and unidentified individuals to intimidate party members and community leaders, creating an environment of fear and distrust.

Further troubling allegations include the exclusive control and distribution of gifts, relief materials, and donations sent by the Governor to the ward by Otunba Koye Ijaduoye and his associates, excluding other party stakeholders. This control over resources has reportedly fostered resentment and harmed grassroots party cohesion.

Of significant concern is the claim that Otunba Koye Ijaduoye has allegedly used security agencies to intimidate community chiefs and elders, actions that could escalate tensions and weaken trust in both the party and government institutions.

Ijaduoye also recalled a personal legal challenge in June 2024, in which he was accused by Otunba Koye Ijaduoye of serious criminal offenses. He described this as an attempt to silence his legitimate concerns over the distribution of government-donated rice and other political matters.

Calling for immediate intervention, Ijaduoye urged Governor Abiodun to remind party leaders that the APC belongs to the people and must operate on democratic principles of transparency, inclusivity, and equitable resource distribution. He expressed confidence that with the Governor’s guidance, peace, unity, and integrity would be restored within the ward and the party at large.

Copies of the letter have also been sent to the APC State Chairman and local government party officials, as well as media houses, signaling the seriousness of the matter.
