REMO NORTH PATRIOTIC   YOUTH AND POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS CALL ON MOHBAD PROTESTERS TO BE SECURITY CONSCIOUS AND SEEK PROPER CONSULTATION

Press Release

The only way for us to move forward is to understand each other in the best manner and become cells in a communal body that moves forward in coordination and not in aggression or tension.

Our attention has been drawn to the various outcries and notifications by some groups within the purview of Remo North and its environment over a purported protest to demand justice for the popular Hip Hop Artist named, Mohbad who died recently in a yet unidentified death.

As a youth leader, the death of this young star is a colossal loss to the young constituency and all hands must be on deck to get him justice.

In lieu of this, some groups of individuals with no strong identities have been calling for a protest to show their concern and solidarity for the innocent soul of Mohbad.

However, a statement released by the youth leadership earlier today expressed deep concerns about the proposed action of the faceless groups that want to embark on a protest.

However, he stressed that they had the right to peaceful protest, as enshrined in our constitution.

He urged them to be peaceful in their demonstrations and prevent the protests from being hijacked by miscreants, hoodlums, and violent people, owing to the previous ugly experiences of such protests in most areas.

The Leadership of the Youth and Student Organization within Remo North Local Government hereby calls the attention of the security agencies and the Chief security officer ( Prince Dapo Odunsi) to the proposed protest by some students and youth within Gateway Polytechnic, Saapade to be security conscious and watchful to prevent any forms of gangsterism and lawlessness throughout the cause of the protest.

In a press conference duly signed by  Comr Oluwaseun Olaniran, the Remo North Patriotic Youth  President, and Comr Kitan Okunola, the National Association of Polytechnic Polytechnic Student National Director of Campus Intervention on Monday, 18th September 2023 that the proposed protest is unconstitutional and unlawful and therefore call on the protesters to follow the proper channel and due processes before the proposed protest.

Our stand is that there should not be any protest in a situation where those behind such protests can't be identified and traced in case there is a breakdown in law and order.

The tension in the public is at a high level and anything that could add more fuel to it should be shunned and ignored. It should be noted that the public is not ignorant of the happenings in Sagamu the paramount seat of Remo Land, where cult fights are ongoing and the majority of the youths and students involved in the clash of the cult groups are running away from Sagamu to various parts of Remo Land where they feel there is peace. They could be planning anything serious as well and might use the opportunity of the proposed protests from unknown faces to put up another acts that could breach the peace and tranquility within Remo North communities.

We are committed to the well-being and peaceful co-existence of the members of our immediate environment.

As much as we love Mohbad should not be a reason to stage or do anything capable of causing another serious fear and commotion among the people.
